Mentions & groups in common

A page of every message that @mentions you, and shared groups in the New message preview.

Mentions page

Lists every message that @mentions the signed-in user, newest first, across all their conversations and threads. Off by default:

tsx
<ChatMain {...props} layout={{ mentions: true }} />
WhereWhat the user sees
Sidebar headerAn @ button that opens the page
Each rowSender avatar and name, the conversation, the text and time - grouped by day
Click a rowOpens that conversation at the message, or the thread for a thread reply
New mentionAppears at the top immediately, also for muted conversations
ScrollingLoads older mentions automatically

Mentions are recorded when the sender picks a person in the composer's @ list (or types @Name), in DMs, groups and thread replies.

From your own navigation

Hide the @ button and control the page yourself:

tsx
1import { MentionsDialog, type MentionedMessage } from "@realtimexsco/live-chat";2 3<MentionsDialog4  showTrigger={false}5  open={mentionsOpen}6  onOpenChange={setMentionsOpen}7  onSelectMention={(m: MentionedMessage) => openConversation(m)}8/>

New message - groups in common

In New message → Message, selecting a person shows their profile with Conversations in common · N: every group you both belong to, most recently active first, with an Archivedtag where it applies. The list comes from the backend, so it includes older groups not yet loaded in the sidebar; it's hidden when you share none.

typescript
1import { fetchCommonGroups, type CommonGroup } from "@realtimexsco/live-chat";2 3const { list, total } = await fetchCommonGroups(userId); // limit defaults to 20, max 1004// list: { _id, groupName, groupImage, memberCount, isArchived }[]
